Hello:

The brown holster is a USGI M1916 holster for the M1911 .45 pistol.  I cannot make out any markings on it so cannot identify the maker or the period of manufacture.

The black holster is also a M1916 pattern.  However, I believe that it is not USGI but rather is a civilian holster made to the M1916 pattern.  Service Manufacturing was a large maker of civilian leather goods prominent in the post-WW2 period.  It made a lot of law enforcement leather goods.

The rifle scabbard is a puzzler.  It is similar to but not identical to the scabbards used for the U.S. Krag and Springfield M1903 rifles.  However, there are some differences in its features as compared to the USGI rifle scabbards and it appears to be unmarked.  Given all of that it seems likely to me that it is a civilian rifle scabbard, not USGI.

I hope that information is helpful to you.

Regards,

Charlie

Thanks Charlie, I was pretty sure on the Pistol ones but also confused on the Rifle. It is old and has all the hardware of the era???

Didn't Service Mfg make the holsters for the Aircrewman pistol?  If so, they did have Government contracts.

The scabbard is a Pattern 1896 Krag Carbine Scabbard, it is a very nice example, the stitching appears to be good and it has both of the suspension straps.

I agree with Dragoon, it sure looks US military. It should have some stamped info around the throat though. Look carefully in that area.

No marks that I can see, there is a spot on the top that may have been a stamp and the drain hole has a metal liner

The metal ring and buckles look to have once been painted black

I currently have three examples of the same pattern, like yours one does not have any maker markings only a unit marking, the drain hole and painted buckles are all correct.

Just to add as well as Arsenal made examples Lanz Owen & Co. also made them for the Spanish American War.

Thank you Sir. It was looking that way from my research, but good to know from those with more knowledge on the subject.
