I doubt they would have slept overnight with aircraft paint on their faces, but I suppose it is possible. The scenes of the Filthy Thirteen stick generally follows the pattern for the practice equipment check of Bob Wolverton's stick from HQ3/506, with aircraft bundles readjusted etc. The camera crew returned on the day of the jump and repeated the photo/film session with Wolverton and his boys, although this time with a different C-47 transport. On June 5th, most if not all paratroopers seen at Exeter airfield had bright colored neck wraps, which are missing from the pictures of Jake McNiece and his stick.
