Concernedfuturedogface Posted December 7, 2024 #1 Posted December 7, 2024 Hello, I've been looking for photo/video/document references of US Army/Marines using the BAR during the interwar period, mainly 1939 to pre-pearl-harbor 1941 when the US was ramping up modernization up to the Louisiana Maneuvers. Does anyone have a good source for this? Also if you have any good references, please throw them in the topic! Thanks.

Concernedfuturedogface Posted December 8, 2024 Author #3 Posted December 8, 2024 Thanks! I've had a blast looking at all your wolfhound photos, as I've spent some time in D-Quad, No Fear!
Salvage Sailor Posted December 8, 2024 #4 Posted December 8, 2024 Don't believe everything you see in the movies. Did you really believe that the whole US Army in the Pacific only had .03 Springfields? This is a 21st Regiment 'Gimlet' Infantry Company at Schofield Barracks prior to the 1941 attack. Their squad weapons - M1 Garands and a Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR).

kiaiokalewa Posted February 28, 2025 #6 Posted February 28, 2025 I'm guessing that the gun in the line is the BAR being discussed here. It's been decommissioned (cut in half).
