Altomarevintage Posted December 6, 2024 #1 Posted December 6, 2024 Hello. I sell surplus clothing and it piles up. I currently keep it in my addition on my house which is not heated or cooled currently. It’s mostly field jackets n such. Anything to worry about in anyone’s estimation. Thanks
Airborne-Hunter Posted December 28, 2024 #2 Posted December 28, 2024 Temperature is only an issue if it gets too hot for leathers, rubbers, ect. Cold and colder are mostly fine. Moisture is always bad. I have seen many things get placed into deep freeze to kill bugs. When freezing objects make sure to bag first. If you do not bag, anything metal will condense water. A German helmet coming out of -20 into ambient 70 with 40% humidity will ice over and will maintain a frost coating for quite some time. As the heavy frost layer melts it will look like it has been rained on (bad). Metal must be sealed/bagged. Also a metal object at -20 can cause frostbite. ABN
