Arisaka99 Posted December 1, 2024 #1 Posted December 1, 2024 This came in a named grouping with a 1916 colt M1911, belt, holster, and magazine pouch that I picked up a couple weeks back. Someone on the pistol thread mentioned this was a rare bird (copy of an RIA 1911 pouch) and suggested I post some photos here. I’m eager to learn about it; google only comes up with a little bit. Happy to post any specific photos requested if these don’t do the job.
Keystone Posted December 1, 2024 #2 Posted December 1, 2024 I would say this is a rare pouch. The R.I.A. first aid pouches were slightly different. Yours has the folded flap corners. A 1911 dated Mills sold on eBay recently for over $500. Here are pictures of that one and an undated example in my collection. Tim

Pep Posted December 3, 2024 #7 Posted December 3, 2024 Thank you for posting the additional pictures. It is clear this pouch more closely resembles the construction of the Rock Island Pouch M1911. The snaps on your Mills pouch are different than I have seen before. More closely resembling, but not the same as the improved Glove snaps used on later 1913 dated pouches.
GWS Posted December 3, 2024 #8 Posted December 3, 2024 Here's the Mill's catalog description(undated): The picture of this pouch was very small and attached to a belt with many other equipments.
