CurraheeMan Posted November 3, 2024 #1 Posted November 3, 2024 At the end of the war, a large handful of German rocket scientists turned themselves in to the US Army. With them, was a stash of V2 blueprints and test reports with information on the specs of successful flights. This was the report from the successful launch in June of 1943, when several meetings took place that would accelerate the program. It was labeled as "Geheim" for a very good reason. The technical director was Wernher von Braun. You can see us signature on page number two, when he certified the claims of the report. There's another signature, though I'm not sure who's. This particular document was brought to White Sands, NM after the war (as the result of of Operation Paperclip) where the rocket scientists would continue their work. German scientist and first director of Kennedy Space Center, Dr Kurt Debus, eventually donated this and similar V2 documents to Kennedy Space Center where it sat in the archive for quite some time.
