Meaning of SRTA On a Police Petty Officer Badge

Does anyone know what SRTA stands for on this badge?  I’m able to find a reference online to someone that served on Mare Island during WWII who repaired subs.  So perhaps the SR stands for Sub Repair but I can’t figure out what the TA stands for.  Any help would be much appreciated.

SRTA may stand for Southeast Regional Transit Authority.

 

"The Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) serves 10 communities in Southeastern Massachusetts, including Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River, Freetown, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Somerset, Swansea,  and Westport."

 

A public bus company who has its own security force, like the Transit Authority cops on the subway, airports, etc. in NYC.

I thought about that when I googled “SRTA” but the petty officer designation didn’t gibe with the transit authority.  The only org that uses petty officer (that I’m aware of) is the Navy.
