Did the Marines ever make blue stripes?  They look like some sort of police stripes. I know a couple of US “New England” police forces wear red backed stripes on their uniforms. But don’t remember which ones.   I’d love to know.

Oh. Ok. On my phone, they look light blue.

Those stripes are a green color, and rather common on WWII dress uniforms.   Different than the issue ones with the cut-out wool stripes, these chevrons are private purchase ones, and were fairly common during the war.  There is also a similar style for the dress blues, same type of stitching but in yellow.  

Nothing wrong with the OP's stripes.
