Marineguy Posted April 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2009 I'd like to know if the WWII material on the Ike jacket can be "re woven" (if that is a word. It has a few moth holes and somewhere I heard they can re weave the fabric like new?

There are individuals who can repair or darn wool.I have seen it done on WW1 and Civil War uniforms.I know a guy who had a very skilled seamstress repair on officers WW2 gabridine jacket that he wore for WW2 Hanger Dances.A mouse had gotten to it.Dont know her name but think she was from Illinios. Bob Hudson Posted April 5, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2009 You'll want to look for a reweaver: it's dying art and they are hard to find.
reinking71 Posted April 29, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 29, 2009 My dry cleaners user a re-weaver but they are not cheap. If you send in the garment the re-weaver will give you a price before they go forward. If you want contact info let me know.
