  I guess I don’t understand why you think any of this is “Fake”. The USN, does not “Issue” these. They put out a description, and assorted manufacturers make them. Some get contracts to sell their stuff directly in the Navy Exchange/Ships Store, but it’s all available in shops off base, and as long as it looks close, guys buy and wear them.

Thank you. I guess it comes from buying German militaria. Being in the UK I did not realise that these badges were that available and that those for sale were simply surplus. I imagined that these were awarded. When I found out about the Chinese copies of Vanguard then I assumed that there were many copies abound. All the best.

To a point. Generally, the first one it “Awarded”. The command, goes to the NEX and buys a few. After that, they come out of the Sailors pocket to buy them.
