Recently acquired some photos from Exec Officer of LCI (L) 408. The boat was bound for Omaha Beach, carrying the 115th Inf.

Outstanding photos, the clarity is remarkable. We all know what most D-Day photos look like.  I'm not sure I've seen better. Are there more, or just these 4? Did the XO take the photos? Do you know what type of camera? Thanks for posting.

Thanks, I was surprised at the level of clarity. The XO (far left of the first picture) took the photos. Not sure what camera was used.

I have two binders of photos from the same guy, most of which are out at sea or prepping from the invasion.

Footnote on the previous post:

- The landing beach of this LCI was Fox Green, though the photo in the original post shows Dog Red after the battle.

- The photo of the soldiers was taken late afternoon on June 5th after departure for Normandy.

Here are a few more pics:

- Photo #1: LCI 408 naval crew

- Photo #2: Prepping for Operation Tiger

- Photo #3: Embarking on Operation Tiger

- Photo #4: LCI 410 in route

- Photo #5: Scuttled ships used to make the seawall for the artificial harbor after D-Day
