Hi I'm having trouble identifying this badge on a USS Kitty Hawk white uniform jumper. I think that it is a fireman apprentice but not sure about this identification and the trade badge. Any ideas please?

Thank you

It’s a non designated Fireman. Came out in the late 1980s. There’s a single anchor for a deck and a winged ( something), for Aviation.

The badge above the stripes indicates, a Non-Designated Fireman Apprentice. It’s a valve wheel with w wrench. Prior to the adoption of these badges, non designated Sailors ( had not attended any trade school),  had nothing. Those who went to school, got a striker mark. So they created these Non-Designated marks so that everyone had something. Additionally, when a recruit went to school, they would wear the striker mark of that school, so the “Authorities”, knew where they were supposed to be. Non-Dedig guys also went to a 2 week school covering the basics of their WIDE group ( Engineering, Deck, Aviation). So, they wore these so that, again, the “Authorities “, knew what school they were assigned to.
