Hi to all american friends,

In november comes the time of auctions in FRANCE, this helmet will be sold.

If possible, I'd like to have your opinions.

The camo paint seems to be pretty good but I wonder if the 28th US ID insignia is often seen in a white circle with a black border.

Your advices and opinions will be helpfull.

I put some pics below.

Thanks' again for your help.

This is an interesting one.  Plain painted 28th Division helmets pretty rigidly adhere to the keystone on one side, or very occasionally on the front.  Camo 28th Division helmets are a different story entirely.  I'm not sure I've seen two that were alike, and they're pretty rare.

The penciled outline of the keystone is rather unusual.  That's not something I've typically seen on painted WWI helmets, and I've never seen a 28th Division insignia on a round background.

Although I don't see anything that would make me immediately deem it fake, I would really need to have this one in-hand under a loupe to be comfortable with it.

Thank's a lot for your quick response (as ever).

I've asked the seller to get some informations about this one (name of the owner, serial number...).

As soon as, I'll put a new post.

Have a great day

Dominique
