Stavelot (Stoumont - La Gleize) 1:25,000-scale original map (Battle of the Bulge)

This is another 'Bulge' map.  It is a 1:25,000-scale GSGS 4041 sheet, title 'Stavelot'.  It is the June 1944 edition, reprinted by a British Royal Engineers unit in December 1944.  The map shows (lower section) the Stoumont - La Gleize - Bourgoumont area of the Ardennes, where Kampfgruppe Peiper (1st SS Panzer Division) was fought to a standstill and where it abandoned its heavy equipment so that the survivors could exfiltrate on foot.

The map is original and I bought it a year or more ago from a French militaria dealer. I do not have any detailed provenance.  I hope some people find it interesting.

Thank you for posting this map!

Great original map showing an important area where the 82nd was essential to the stopping of the German advance.

I was in La Gleize in 2009. Here is a current signpost as you enter the village. And where I was a bit naughty with my son!
