So, I posted this tool kit in the "identify my militaria" section a month ago,
And I finally figuring out that it is indeed a USAAF item based on this Nomenclature plate I found in a photo from an 2019 Ebay Auction.

I'm looking for more information on it, specifically what kind of tools it would've held. If there was a Technical Manual for it that would be a great next step in my research and quest to restock the kit with its original tools

These kits were used by USAAF Camera Technicians (MOS 941).

Camera Technicians (MOS 941);
Adjusts, maintains, and repairs all aerial and ground, still, and motion picture cameras used by Army Air Forces.
Makes periodic inspections of cameras and laboratory equipment, and repairs defects using precision hand tools. Selects equipment to be used on photographic missions, and checks for proper functioning of such mechanisms as film timing and automatic and semi-automatic features of cameras. Prepares reports on installation of cameras in air planes. May repair gun cameras.

Can anyone tell me more about these toolboxes and their content? Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

Might have luck posting on the G.503 forum in the tools section… a lot of information on WWII tools and special tool kits…

So far my search for more information only seems to return my own posts. I keep forgetting to post it over at G503.
But in the mean time I've added some (vintage) tools that I've been able to discern from the photo or from the layout of the pouches on the removable panel;

Jeweler's screwdrivers,

Jeweler's hammer,

Watchmakers bench block.
Needle files, and a US Army Lineman's handle for them.

A few other vintage calipers, pliers and pocket-stuffers are filling unidentified pouches/pockets for now

And I've had a reproduction data tag made up by Eric from Totoenjeep based on the original in the first post.
It's coming together, but I've still got a long way to go.

The leather pocket that contains a "Wrench Set" probably held a 1/4 ratchet/socket wrench set in a metal tin. But the dimensions are too small to fit the common sets from the General Maintenance Tool Kit.

It is already getting put to it's original use though, here it is in use servicing an Eyemo "US Army Air Corps A-3 Bomb Spotting camera"
