M1Garandy Posted October 11, 2024 #1 Posted October 11, 2024 Was in a repro first aid pouch when received. Paint is flaking off in sheets and I notice it is not marked to indicate who made it.
Pep Posted October 14, 2024 #2 Posted October 14, 2024 Looks good. Mfg'd by the government not a contractor I beleive. Brass or tin case?
AustinO Posted December 2, 2024 #5 Posted December 2, 2024 Do they reproduce these? They're still readily available and cheap.
M1Garandy Posted December 2, 2024 Author #6 Posted December 2, 2024 I swear I have seen them reproduced, but I honestly can't remember where/when I may have seen them.
Kwc27122 Posted December 8, 2024 #7 Posted December 8, 2024 This one looks good. They are reproduced, but made to open without the seal tab so it can be reused over and over. This one looks like it has the seal in place. It isn’t uncommon to find something like this in a repro pouch, possibly placed there by a reenactor. Original Carlisle kits are very common and easy to come by.
