Need info on waist strap.

Hey all, as the title suggests, I’m looking for some info on a waist strap I had gotten at an auction for a lightweight rucksack.

 

in appearance, it looks like the LC-1 ALICE rucksack waist strap. But the contract predates ALICE by a couple of years as well as it is a DSA stamp.

 

the conclusion I came to is that it’s a late war waist strap that was used for the lightweight rucksack but later the design was used for the ALICE one.

I’m looking for further information and insight on the strap.
