godwulfAZ Posted October 6, 2024 #1 Posted October 6, 2024 A few years ago my son, a doctor in the Army Medical Corps, was assigned to a Navy command. While there he worked with the local Coast Guard unit and was awarded a Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation ribbon. When he rotated out his command awarded him a Navy Achievement Medal. (I had to give him a hard time about that because I was on active duty in the Navy for 21 years and never received a NAM.) As a former enlisted man, he also wears a Good Conduct Medal ribbon and one other badge on the right side - not sure what it is - indicating enlisted service. Add to this he received his Army Aviator Badge while a Warrant Officer, training to fly Blackhawks. He has now qualified as an Army Flight Surgeon, so he has a second set of wings. So to someone who knows their awards, his uniform tells an interesting story: A former enlisted soldier who became an aviator and is now a doctor, with awards from three different Services. (Oh, and a German Military Proficiency Badge.) I'd like to hear others' stories about Service members who've racked up (no pun intended) an interesting mix of other Service awards, etc.
