US Cutlery, but none the wiser

Hello, 

 

Found a set of what I believe to be a us ww2 cutlery. What I think weird is the "Rostfrei" hallmark, as it is German for "Stainless"... I read Medical Department for USMD, but no idea about the one stamped "US" only

 

Can you help me identify all this? Thanks

I m very intrigued by the Krusius knives, it s a German manufacturer. It looks very disputable, and the hallmark reads USA and not US...
