I had never heard of this top secret operation using drones in Vietnam. Here's a great article on the subject on the Historynet.com:

There are a few versions of patches that use Fireflies but not all are associated with drones. There are also other missions called Firefly which involved helicopters and big spotlights used in the Mekong Delta (mostly) or other waterways to spot sampans.
