Usage of M1917 Mounted Belt among paratroopers

Hey everyone! I'm a reenactor of an 82 airborne (505), and few weeks ago I bought cavalry mounted belt for Normandy and Market-Garden impressions.

Guys from my group told me that paratroopers used both new (m1923) and old belts (mostly, cavalry one's) from WW1 equally, but I didn't find any historical photos for prove. Maybe someone can send me the pictures so I can be sure that this was a thing?

I'm private, and for as I know, paratroopers didn't carry pistols except NCOs. So what should I do next? Sell this belt and by 10 pouch version, or I can carry a pistol as a private? (I know that here was a topic about it) Can I carry a holster for it, or I need to carry it in my pocket?

Sorry for my English, there can be a mistakes in my speech above.

From what I know the 506th used some of the mounted ww1 pistol belts during operation overlord because I remember a few photos of them wearing them. ( I can't find the pictures right now, sorry) So they diffinitly issued to paratroopers in small numbers. It was more common for the First Special Service Force and the 10th mountain division using them though.
