Jamecharles Posted September 12, 2024 #1 Posted September 12, 2024 Good day everyone, I am looking for more information about an officer who fought in ww2. I am owning his blue dress uniform (1938) so my primary obj is understand which medals he could have on that dress at the end of ww2. Here below few info I spotted on the web: Stacy W. Gooch - 724th Field Artillery Battalion, 69th Infantry Division. BTW if I wanna try to reconstruct the configuration of the medals which one I could select? I guess as follow: LOM, bronze star (Valor and meritorius), american defense, american campaign, ETO (with citations?), victory ww2, occupation medal (?), french croix de Guerre. Any suggestion, correction or advice are welcome! Thanks in advance

QED4 Posted September 12, 2024 #3 Posted September 12, 2024 Here is his entry in the West Point Register, it gives you a couple more details. Don't you think it might be better set up as a pre-war uniform given that these uniforms were made optional in 1940 and suspended in 1943 not to come back until 1947 and the style changed shorty after? Anyway I think the medals you suggest would be correct for post-war
Jamecharles Posted September 12, 2024 Author #4 Posted September 12, 2024 Your suggestion regarding setting it up as a pre war is really a good Idea. Thanks Gs
