Tolzer Posted September 11, 2024 #1 Posted September 11, 2024 WWI, U.S. AIR SERVICE, COLLAR DISK, MADE IN FRANCE, HALLMARKED "FIX" Applied propeller, approx. 1 inch in diameter, screw back, hallmarked “FIX” FIX, Paris France: Was founded in the early 19th century by Francois Savard who worked in the Marais district. In 1893 son Auguste Savard took over the business and registered the trademark “FIX. At one point they had overn300 employees. They made WWI Eagles that were worn by many French pilots and also made insignia for the U.S. Aero Squadrons. The last record of the business was in the early 1970’s, with the business in the town of Saint Amand Montrand run by Jean Savard who was the grandson of the owner.
