ItemCo16527 Posted September 10, 2024 #1 Posted September 10, 2024 Can anyone help me ID the ribbons numbered 14 and 15? I'm afraid the labels are stuck to the ribbons themselves and I'm worried removing them might damage the ribbons. #14 appears to have a white center edged in yellow, and #15 is blue.

I personally don't think the sticker's will runin the ribbons unless they are glued onto them. If anything the ribbons might be more vibrant underneath. It's probably the only way to actually tell what they are. More then likely state awards.
Solution ItemCo16527 Posted September 10, 2024 Author Solution #3 Posted September 10, 2024 Thank you, Spartan! I managed to get the stickers off, with only a small amount of glue residue. Looking at them this way, they seem to appear like a couple of awards from Taiwan / Republic of China. Edit: Just having a quick look around, I found this website. She may have received two different degrees of the Order of the Clouds and Banner! If this is the case, this could make it easier to find out who she was.

I know I have seen some goofy stuff over the years but that makes no sense. I am still leaning towards state awards over foreign awards but I could be wrong.
ItemCo16527 Posted September 10, 2024 Author #5 Posted September 10, 2024 May have served in Taiwan during the crisis there in '57 or '58? She has 2 National Defense Medals, so she may have even been there a couple of times during her career. However, I won't rule out state or even association ribbons. Thank you for your input so far Spartan :) I appreciate it!

Maybe she was like a military advisor or something. Will be interesting to see what others have to say about them.

This ribbon group turned to be far more intriguing than I imagined!
Bruce Linz Posted September 10, 2024 #8 Posted September 10, 2024 My thoughts are those ribbons represent different grades of the Chinese Order of the Cloud and Banner, also known as the Order of the Resplendent Banner. It is a military award of the Republic of China and was instituted on June 15, 1935. The Cloud and Banner is awarded in nine grades for contributions.
