Dirk Posted September 8, 2024 #1 Posted September 8, 2024 Here is a very clean set of US Marines made by Britains Ltd, of London, c. 1937, with its original box. Britains was known to have several years where their painting standard was higher than other years. 1937 was one of those years. Britains made a number of sets of US Forces….the most common encountered are West Point Cadets, US Marines, and US Sailors. In this case pre-war Marines are wearing their blue covers, but post war it’s white covers….
srossio Posted October 24, 2024 #2 Posted October 24, 2024 So cool! It would be amazing to be able to play with something like that... Their condition is just beautiful.
themick Posted October 24, 2024 #3 Posted October 24, 2024 Nice set. I'm still looking for a USMC dress cover with the red band. 🙃 Steve
Dirk Posted October 24, 2024 Author #4 Posted October 24, 2024 Steve I am not sure why they added the red or why they added three gold blobs to represent hat buttons…I suspect they some how they got it wrong despite normally being very accurate in their painting of figures.
