Pep Posted September 3, 2024 #1 Posted September 3, 2024 This one has a good untouched look about it. Unusual that it has the desert camo over the Woodland cover? I think the comfort pad is an original issue also. Think it's an 83 contract. Named in side head band. Chin cup is cotton sewn to the nylon strap
Pep Posted September 4, 2024 Author #2 Posted September 4, 2024 Was it unusual to have two covers on over one another?
blurryface07 Posted June 29, 2025 #3 Posted June 29, 2025 I haven’t seen a helmet used with multiple covers. I don’t see why you couldn’t use it like this though. Just the matter of why? What does the helmet look like with the desert cover removed?
Pep Posted June 30, 2025 Author #4 Posted June 30, 2025 I always thought the "why" as just easier than taking off and putting on a cover. I do not want to disturb the set for now.
Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted November 30, 2025 #5 Posted November 30, 2025 I've seen a few with 2 covers.
The Rooster Posted November 30, 2025 #6 Posted November 30, 2025 Nice helmet! Terribly designed for the wearer though. Two Helmet covers? I'l throw in. Prior to Desert storm, the majority of troops wore woodland... Desert storm came up relatively quick meaning the military knew about a year ahead of time that Sadam would invade Kuwait........ Deuces and Humvee's tanks braddleys M113's etc etc that were woodland were painted sand color. I could see just putting the choc chip cover over the woodland knowing when they got back to the states, they would have to go back to woodland. Just one less thing to do, and or look after. Just put a different cover over your woodland.
