Jack McCabe Posted September 2 #1 Posted September 2 This is my Dad's uniform from World War 2. He served in the Pacific and was in Japan from early September until November 1945. I have see other examples of this but could find no official documents on it. He never had an Occupation ribbon. Can anyone shed some light on this?
ItemCo16527 Posted September 4 #2 Posted September 4 No devices were ever authorized for the WWII Victory Medal. I've read theories that the star just indicates overseas service or that it indicates participation in combat. Hopefully, someone out there may be able to shed more light on it.
firefighter Posted September 16 #3 Posted September 16 Supposedly a ⭐ in the WW2 victory indicted combat service. Only the infantry and combat medics had an actual award to show combat service. This would be like a pre pre combat action badge. Totally unofficial
