Chuckman1108 Posted September 1, 2024 #1 Posted September 1, 2024 Are these collectibles? I have one from Parris Island circa mid/late 50s (no crossed rifles on chevrons), 2nd Batt, Platoon 271. I really don't need it. If anyone is into these PM me.
vette59 Posted September 3, 2024 #2 Posted September 3, 2024 Hi, I don't collect these myself, but the Marine boot camp class books from the 50's through the Vietnam era are collectable. It seems the post Vietnam books would only be of interest to a person if that was their original platoon. I have two Marine boot camp class books from 1976 and 2005 for sale on Ebay. I've had them listed for quite some time with very little interest in them. Chuck

Yeah, I didn't know the "collectability" of these. This one is late 50s but pre-Vietnam. Honestly I am not sure how I have it as my father went to boot in San Diego (same timeframe). Thanks again, Charles
Rhscott Posted September 6, 2024 #4 Posted September 6, 2024 Well here is Plt 135 from 1968 at PI. I imagine most of this training class went to Veitnam. I have no need in it.
