https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-save-and-rebuild-a-historic-wwii-m3-halftrack Hello Community ,my name is Marco Borzi, I come from Menden in Sauerland. Father of three daughters and firefighter by profession. I am an amateur historian and my great passion is WW2, the operations in Western Europe. I hope that the forum will provide you with a lot of new information and new contacts. I have already traveled twice to the D-Day anniversary. a great experience.

We need your help to preserve a unique piece of history!

Recently, we discovered an advertisement for a rare find: an original U.S. Army White M3 Halftrack that was used during World War II. Unfortunately, this remarkable vehicle is in poor condition. Its engine no longer functions, many of its parts are missing or damaged, and it requires a full restoration, including repainting. As history enthusiasts, we knew immediately that we had to save this relic before it was lost forever!

We are a small group based in Menden, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany—a city with a rich historical connection to WWII. In April 1945, Menden was part of the Ruhr Pocket, the last major battle on the Western Front, where German forces were encircled and defeated. Our city was liberated by American troops on April 12, 1945, as part of the U.S. 7th Armored Division's campaign through the Ruhr area. It would be a great honor to restore this M3 Halftrack and drive it through the same streets where it once accompanied the victorious Allied soldiers.

Our Vision

We are dedicated to preserving the history of World War II and honoring the memory of the Allied troops who fought for freedom. Our goal is to restore this M3 Halftrack using original parts and return it to its former glory. Once rebuilt, we plan to:

Drive the M3 Halftrack through the Ruhr Pocket region, providing educational tours and sharing its historical significance.

Attend the 85th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, paying tribute to the American and Allied soldiers who landed there.

Use the vehicle as a living piece of history, bringing people closer to the events of WWII and helping them appreciate the sacrifices made during the war.

How You Can Help

By donating to our campaign, you are helping us save this M3 Halftrack from being lost to time and neglect. With your support, we can restore it to working condition and use it as a tribute to the Allied forces who liberated Europe. Your contribution will go directly toward the purchase of the vehicle, as well as its restoration and maintenance.

Together, we can preserve a vital piece of WWII history and ensure that future generations remember the importance of the Allied victory.

Thank you for your support!
