Guest dkr02 Posted March 30, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 30, 2007 New member here with a question on the Jet Pilot Survival knife. When did the military start using the sheaths with the metal reenforcement on the tip? I have an Ontario knife dated 1973 with the reenforced tip scabbard. Is this the correct sheath? Thanks Rick
gunbarrel Posted March 30, 2007 Share #2 Posted March 30, 2007 I don't know...I'm sure that Greg, or Gary will come up with the answer, but here is one dated 1969 that sold here recently and the sheath did not have the metal reinforcement. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...?showtopic=3109
Greg Robinson Posted March 30, 2007 Share #3 Posted March 30, 2007 I believe this change occurred in the '70's.
