Early Fraser WWI Victory Medal Reverse Designs

I find the development of designs for medals to be very interesting. Even great artists like James Earl Fraser seldom hit on a medal's final design on their first try. Attached are two of Frasers designs for the WWI Victory Medal. The first design bears an uncanny resemblance to the reverse design for the WWII campaign medals.

Not being a coin collector, I had to look this up and you certainly are correct. Beautiful coins.
