Just picked up some of these tarps, and honestly know nothing about them...are they a pretty rare or desirable item?  Either way I think they are pretty cool.....  Thanks for any info in advance!  Chris...

The tarps, or "paulins" were originally a component of the Army Hot Climate Kit and later became an optional item for the Aircrew Modular Survival System (AMSS) and Air Warrior SKRAM bags. They have been around since the early 1960's and were originally marked as 'Paulin, Lightweight, Size 77". Your paulin is one from a 1991 contract when the Army bought quite a bit of survival gear. Most of the demand is for the Vietnam dated ones. They don't turn up real often, but they are not that rare of an item.
