Marshallj Posted August 3 Share #1 Posted August 3 I live in Ohio and have two kids living in the Carolinas. I have travelled I 77 more times than I care to count. Most times we took our dog with us on the visits down south. That is why we never stopped in Mt. Airy to visit the Andy Griffith Museum. Our poor pooch died not too long ago so on a recent trip we were able to visit "Mayberry." One thing I learned is that Thelma Lou (Betty Lynn) volunteered for the USO during WW2. I took a few pictures of her uniform and her Colt. It was difficult to get good pictures because of the glass case & lighting. Here is an article about her service: https://www.movieguide.org/news-articles/andy-griffith-actress-betty-lynns-uso-career-she-loved-her-country.html
Bodes Posted August 3 Share #2 Posted August 3 Very nice....I was surprised when I read that neither Betty Lynn nor Aneta Corsaut (aka Helen Crump) were ever married.....Thanks for posting, Bodes
