I think I remember seeing one like it in one of my reference books but am not home to check. It’s got that “WW1 feel” to me.

Is this one of the early styles when we went from pineapple to the ball style? Almost looks like a hybrid of the two.

whatever it is, someone paid around $6,000 for it at auction.

Thanks on that.

 

I'm pretty sure it was / is a WWI grenade.

 

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.

I'm going to stop following this thread since the grenade sold -- and for a lot more than I would have paid -- so someone knew what it was..
