ash1000 Posted August 2, 2024 #1 Posted August 2, 2024 The shell stands approximately 14.25 inches high and the bottom diameter is approximately 88mm. Must be a Armor Piercing Round? Type of artillery that uses this round? Blue paint indicates practice round?
917601 Posted August 4, 2024 #2 Posted August 4, 2024 90mm AP practice projectile.Tank gun. Most likely from the 50’s. Look very closely for engraved markings just above the top of the driving band. The casing will be ( to find- they are out there) lacquered steel, Norris manufactured. I forgot the “ M” number designation.
917601 Posted August 4, 2024 #4 Posted August 4, 2024 A few of mine stored in the McDonough Military Museum. Far right, next to mortars. Both the black and blue training round, in a dated crate. Those 90mm rounds when complete with a casing are impressive.
