Strange wings on ring - OSC?

Recommended Posts

I found this ring amongs a jumble of old mid-century costume jewelry, and as usual I am clueless. What first reminded me of a cross atop a tombstone (an unlikely badge if ever there was one), I can now see that it is supposed to be the bow of a ship, with the "cross" likely some sort of mast. Below are the initials OSC. Does anyone know what this might be for?

OSC stands for Oregon Ship Building Corporation. They built Liberty Ships during WW II. I have a lapel pin with this design. World Champion Liberty Ship Builders September 1943 is stamped on the back of the pin. I would catagorize it as a production award. John
