Hello All,

I have this undated tee handled shovel which is painted brown by someone but otherwise great shape. There are no markings besides the US on the shovel and handle. There are also the wood shims seen in the WW1 era.
Does anyone have any opinion or idea on how to date these any further?

Thank you for your input,

Hayman

I have seen this coffee-brown color paint on military items in the past. Think this (or a similar color) was common on things like British ammo cans, etc.

That is interesting as it shows no trace of any green whatsoever and wear like it’s had some use and age after painting.
