This helmet was sourced through a San Diego estate by a local high-end Antique Dealer. I think it's a beautiful lightly used original helmet, but I am not an expert in this area. Your comments and opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Correct me if I'm wrong Chuck, but I thought the seam of the rim should be in the rear.  If that's the case, the emblem is mounted on the rear of the helmet.

Hello Steve,

 

All I know is it was both ways on WWI USMC helmets, and that didn't bother me at all. All were named and sourced directly from Veterans.

It's a m1917a1 helmet just like the thread title states.  It's a refitted British Mk I that has had the chinstrap loops replaced, a paint job and the m1917a1 liner.
