I was hoping someone could help me, I'm not sure what this is or if it is even military. I was told it is for some sort of sight glass for a bomber.  The glass is 1/4 thick and it is roughly 10" wide. Thank-you!!

When you say glass, do you mean plexyglass? If so, it would be in keeping with the doam's used by navigators for night navigation.  The ones I have seen have a lower profile . I couldnt tell you what type aircraft it came from or what time frame.

Thanks P-59A!!  That looks pretty close.  How thick is the glass/plexiglass?  I will look again when I get home, it definitely feels like glass.

This is definitely glass not plexiglass.  It's too small to be a viewing glass.

Well, plexy for these is thin. Its made to cut the wind and keep weather out, not much more than that..

The glass on this is a 1/4 thick.  It's pretty cool!!  Wish I knew for sure what it was used for.

Bullet proof glass like the front shield of a WW2 fighter is laminated and something around a inch or a taste more thick.
