To the best of my knowledge this picture was taken in Western France , late WWII. 

Could you please tell me more ?

From what we see, he probably is an Anti Tank Crewman standing the way he is in front of a M1 57mm Anti Tank Gun in background. He seems to be wearing OD HBT Coveralls and wearing just the helmet liner.

Those overalls do look odd and the belt is also.
