I think that Browninggunner is on to something.  See this image of a component of the BAR bipod assembly described as "early".  Photo credit to BMG Parts Co.  (There were several variations of the bipod over the years.)   The C80158 is, I believe, the drawing number for that component.  C is a reference to the size of the drawing.

Hello,

Thanks for your help. I think the part is too heavy to serve as a bipod (around 1,2 kg).

The diameter of the center part is 3,05 cm
