Silvio Posted June 19, 2024 #1 Posted June 19, 2024 Hi all! Is this an legit setup. Time frame between 1941-1960? Lets say 20 years service but no good conduct? Thank you
USMCR79 Posted June 19, 2024 #2 Posted June 19, 2024 An Officer would not be awarded a Good Conduct Medal. This may be an Officers Medal Bar Bill
Silvio Posted June 19, 2024 Author #3 Posted June 19, 2024 Thanks Bill. I had not thought about the fact that it could indeed be an officer. The AFEM may have been awarded during a smaller campaign around the mid-1950s and the NDSM for service, but not in a war zone such as the Korean War. Seems plausible then
KurtA Posted June 20, 2024 #4 Posted June 20, 2024 Totally legit officer group. Went in just before WW2 (qualified for the American Def Medal) and retired from the Navy in the early 1960's (after 1961 to qualify for an AF Expeditionary Medal and before qualifying for a star for a second National Defense Medal for Vietnam. )
