Assistance with purchasing WWII era sergeant chevrons

I'd like to make a few shadow boxes in honor of a family member who served in WWII.  I'd like to include a pair of sergeant chevrons in each box.  Would anyone be willing to review a few Ebay auctions for me to guide me (via PM) as to the right era for the chevrons and price?  I am a novice collector of WWII SSI, but chevrons are an area I am unfamiliar with.

We're assuming you need Sergeant strips, Buck Sergeant that is.

His rank is listed as "Sergeant" in all Morning Reports, Separation Record, etc.  I am assuming 3x stripes?  Or can I not be so sure?

If he is listed as such then you can be certain he is a Three Strip Sergeant, a Buck Sergeant, If he was of the higher grades, it would be listed in full IE Staff Sergeant, Technical Sergeant, Master Sergeant, 1st or First Sergeant.
