Midwestern85 Posted June 15, 2024 #1 Posted June 15, 2024 I'd like to make a few shadow boxes in honor of a family member who served in WWII. I'd like to include a pair of sergeant chevrons in each box. Would anyone be willing to review a few Ebay auctions for me to guide me (via PM) as to the right era for the chevrons and price? I am a novice collector of WWII SSI, but chevrons are an area I am unfamiliar with. Thank you!
patches Posted June 15, 2024 #2 Posted June 15, 2024 We're assuming you need Sergeant strips, Buck Sergeant that is. So here you go, WWII Silver/White Embroidered on Black Twill type. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325805656279?
Midwestern85 Posted June 17, 2024 Author #3 Posted June 17, 2024 His rank is listed as "Sergeant" in all Morning Reports, Separation Record, etc. I am assuming 3x stripes? Or can I not be so sure? Thank you for the link, I can even order multiple pairs!

If he is listed as such then you can be certain he is a Three Strip Sergeant, a Buck Sergeant, If he was of the higher grades, it would be listed in full IE Staff Sergeant, Technical Sergeant, Master Sergeant, 1st or First Sergeant.
Midwestern85 Posted June 18, 2024 Author #5 Posted June 18, 2024 Patches- I very much appreciate your help! Thank you.
