I came across this recently. I have seen one with a pin back before. Any idea of the date period it would be from?

Thanks Billyh

I've never seen another pin-back version either. It's almost certainly a modified badge. The N.S. Meyer makers marks and the use of 1/20 Silver Filled material date this badge to the very late 1960's through 1970's. Additionally, these badges typically has crisp details, dark backs and background fields on the fronts. I'm not sure if it's the lighting on yours, but the pictures appear to be of a cast badge or one that's been over-cleaned with abrasives or chemicals.

I collect these older and obsolete antique silver versions of this beret badge and I have never come across a pin back variant.  I agree with Basic Rifleman's assessment of this badge.

Yes, I also agree. The badge in question looks to be a cast copy.

Thanks. I don't own this badge.

Cast copy makes sense.
