haven't found much on this man. But really nice grouping.  Includes a 1942 Italian dog license!  He was born in Greece,  and his NOK dog tags have GO for Greek Orthodox religion.  Not sure about the rosary, it was with the group, but not sure if Greek Orthodox used them. If any one can find any more about him would appreciate it.

To answer your question in regards to the rosary, the rosary is not a part of the Greek Orthodox religion, HOWEVER there are a fair number of Orthodox Christians who do pray the rosary as a devotion. You can get more info from the www at Orthodox Church in America (OCA.org).

I got this group in a local auction, and picked it up before the flea Market.  Sorry should had explained that.  And thanks for the rosary link, I had read about it but wasn't clear if they used them or not.

Funny thing happened recently at a local auction.  This man's war journal was listed, not sure how it ended up here and separated from the group. I got into a bidding war, and ended up giving up. I asked the auction house to give the winner my contact information hoping to share some information I had on the man. About a week later the winner contacted me. I sent him pictures of the group I have, and he almost immediately said I should have the journal as well! He sold it to me for his cost! Wow! Sure glad I reached out to him. Haven't had a chance to read thru it all, there are 70 written pages. Also included are 2 more photos, and German army breast eagle, and an assessment he wrote up about field training at Camp Adair.  You can imagine how happy and grateful I am to have this added to this group.

It is really outstanding that you could keep everything together and kudos to the other collector for being willing to allow you to reunite the diary with the group.
