USdog Posted May 15 #1 Posted May 15 I picked these up from an estate not too long ago. Veteran was a Lt Col. in the 3/12 Infantry, 4th ID in Vietnam and did 2 tours there. I think the veteran is still alive so I may try to reach out. One looks unused and the other is slightly sun faded and used. covers are identical. The left and right side say “Braves, 3/12,” lt col insignia on front, and back has his name embroidered on back. Which I will leave out for privacy. Was this embroidery done in Vietnam? Both covers are dated 1969
FT.Monmouth1943 Posted May 15 #2 Posted May 15 Yes, the embroidery was done in Vietnam. Those are great covers.
USdog Posted May 15 Author #3 Posted May 15 Thanks! I figured it was done in country but had only seen it on caps and jackets before. Never seen it on a helmet cover.
