A Small Collection of WWII USMC Tags

A few combat marine dog tags I have acquired. 

 

1 & 2: Fingerprint tags of PORVAZNIK, Stephen Raymond. Anti-aircraft machine gun crewman with Special Weapons Group, 9th Defense Battalion, FMF. Participated in action against the Japanese on Guadalcanal, Rendova, and Munda Point, New Georgia. 

 

3: Tag of WICKLUND, Harold Albert. Radio operator with Baker Company, 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, FMF. Participated in action against the Japanese on Namur, Saipan, and Tinian. 

 

4: Tag of PIRINT, Martin John, Jr. Radio operator with Able Company, 3d Amphibious Tractor Battalion, III Amphibious Corps, FMF during the recapture of Guam before transferring to Weapons Company, 9th Marines, 3d Marine Division, FMF, with which he participated in action against the Japanese on Iwo Jima. 

 

5: Tag of SWOBODA, Bill Rex. Intelligence man with Charlie Company, 6th Tank Battalion, 6th Marine Division, FMF. Participated in action against the Japanese on Okinawa. 

 

6: Tag of THOMAS, Edward J. Telephone man with Signal Company, Headquarters Battalion, 6th Marine Division, FMF. Participated in action against the Japanese on Okinawa. 

 

7: Tag of ROHRKASTE, Edward Roger. Rifleman with Easy Company, 2d Battalion, 29th Marines, 6th Marine Division, FMF. Participated in action against the Japanese on Okinawa. Sustained shrapnel wounds to both legs on 20Jun45.
