...Like always, I'm repeating myself, but if anybody out there has any pictures with Troopers wearing these Specialist ranks, please post them....

Take a look at Trading Post (July/Sept 2008): "Gary's Photo Gallery" p. 18, which shows an undated picture of a soldier wearing "First and Third" stripes (PFC, Specialist 3rd Class) and a 32nd Division SSI. Like these (from the Kiaiokalewa collection):

Wailuna, thanks again for the info. But living over here in Germany, I just can't run down to the drug store and buy a copy or even order a back copy. If you have that magazine, could I talk you out of scanning the picture and posting it, if it wouldn't be too much of a problem? ;)

Thanks,

Pat

What! You mean you are not a member off ASMIC? Sorry, G.I., I no can copy from TP. The esteemed editor of said journal lurks here and he would neuter me for doing that. However, he might see your request and post that image himself, as a goodwill gesture.

:w00t: WAILUNA: Which issue of the A.S.M.I.C. "Trading Post" do you need? Mine are more then a few years old, mostly 1970s to 1990s, maybe I have what you need? I am not a salesman, so if I have it, it would be your own for free - collectors already pay enough as it is, time they catch a break now and then, Wailuna! Sarge Booker of Tujunga ([email protected]) POST SCRIPT: I can go through the store room boxes during the week and see what I have? Let me know date of issue?

@ Sarge Booker, this is the magazine Wailuna meant;

If you find a picture, great, and please take your time, there's no hurry on my part. ;)

Here's one being worn in 1941, a Staff Sergeant Tank Corps, by one Lester Tenney  B Company 192nd Tank Battalion, at Ft Knox, B Co of the 192nd Tk Bn was formed from Company B formerly 33rd Tank Company Illinois National Guard, Tenney was from Chicago, and we would imagine he was an original National Guardsman, who apparently attained rank fast, a New York Times article on his passing in a February 2017 paper has him joining up sometime in 1940 only.
