Good morning,

After my mother passed, she handed down a ring from my dad who died when I was 5 (1959). I've been trying to find some help in determining what the ring represents. I've tried several places and now I'm here. I hope I'm in the right forum and if so I'd appreciate any help I can receive. My dad died in a car accident but was a member of United States Navy.

Thanks - jb

It looks like a 1930's high school ring, I cannot see a military connection however your photos are a little fuzzy - Perhaps you should provide some details on you father such as Name, where he was from etc. when you are asking for research assistance. A lot of members on the forum are great researchers but you have to give us something to go on.

Hello Bill,

Thanks so much for the quick response and tips for potentially improved results.

I agreed the pics were of poor quality but I had mailed the ring to my son so I had to have him take better pics. As you will see, he's much better at picture taking than am I.

My dad was Francis (Frank) C. Gladieux and he was based out of NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville Fl. He was 38 yrs old when he died (1959) in an auto accident and was originally from Toledo, Ohio.

Thanks again for your help.

Just above the word "Service" appears to be 3 letters - This reminds me of a fraternity ring - where was he in 1952?

Since he went to a catholic high school I am thinking it may be a Catholic or Serviceman's Fraternity.

Thanks again Bill.

I'm unsure of his 1952 location. It was a couple of years before I was born and other family members are unsure also. I always remember my mother talking about us being in Sanford Fl. when I was born (1954) so I'm guessing maybe there. My nephew found this ebay add below for additional info.

Thanks again - jb
