Mystery US (?) OD cotton duck tent identification

Hey guys,

 

I already did a search for "tent", "pup tent" and "squad tent" and came up with a lot of results but nothing resembling my tent.

My tent has no "US" anywhere or any markings, for that matter.

 

Length is 5 feet, height of wall is 4 feet.

 

The rear is permanently closed, unlike the famous sectional tent we all used as boy scouts/soldiers/campers.

It has been impregnated with a water-resistant coating which makes me think it's military in origin and not just assembled from surplus cotton duck which flooded the surplus stores after the war.

 

Construction is sturdy and doesn't look "cheezy" at all like an item made for the camping industry by the millions in the post-war period.

 

Based on my own army experience with a pup tent I'd say this might comfortably fit three men.

 

Photographed it today in bright Arizona spring sunlight and inspected both sides, still couldn't find any markings or stitch marks from a missing tag....
